PANKO FRIED TOFU

Marinate the tofu overnight then dredge and fry to create a tasty treat that is packed with protein. 

INGREDIENTS NEEDED:  – Firm tofu – Dark soy sauce – Tomato paste – Garlic cloves – Rice vinegar – Brown sugar – Paprika – Water – Panko breadcrumbs – Vegetable oil

STEP 1: 

Start by slicing the tofu into smaller pieces, then use paper towels or a tofu press to remove any excess moisture.  

STEP 2: 

In a bowl, whisk the marinade ingredients together.  Place the tofu into a shallow bowl, and cover with the marinade.  Cover and refrigerate for at least 30-minutes.

STEP 3: 

When ready to cook, heat oil in a deep skillet then dredge the tofu in panko breadcrumbs.  Cook for 2 to 3 minutes per side until golden and crispy.

These crispy tofu patties are ideal by themselves, but we love serving with rice and a simple bang bang sauce on top for added flavor.
