Description
This is Hands Down, The BEST Vegetable Chow Mein Recipe with a crazy good simple asian sauce. Tastier than Panda Express take out, better for you and fast and easy!
Ingredients

- 1 tbsp oil, ( I use grapeseed)
- 300 grams uncooked noodles,( around 3/4 lb) chow Mein noodles or your favourite noodles (I love spaghettini for this).
- 3 cups cabbage, (thinly sliced or shredded)
- 2 cups mushrooms, (sliced)
- 1/3 cup white onion, ( sliced)
- 1/3 cup grated carrot, ( one small carrot)
- 1/3 cup red peppers, ( sliced)
- 1 cup fresh bean sprouts
- 1/3 cup green onions, (sliced on diagonal)
- Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)
- 1 recipe 5 Spice Stir-Fry Sauce
Instructions
- Make 5 Spice Stir Fry sauce and set aside.
- Cook noodles according to instructions, (see notes on how to prepare different noodle varieties)
- Add oil to large non stick skillet, on medium/high heat. Let oil heat up for a minute, then add your white onions and mushrooms. Saute for a minute or two.
- Add cabbage continue to cook, until cabbage has lost its volume, about 2-3 minutes. Turn down heat if necessary.
- Add rest of vegetables, reserving some green onion for garnish (Optional) and cook for another 3-5 minutes or so.
- Add Sauce and noodles, cook for another minute or two, until everything is heated through and sauce has thickened .
- Garnish with some sliced green onions and sesame seeds of using.
- Dig In!
Notes
- For Spaghetti, spaghettini or chow mein noodles: Once cooked, drain, rinse well with cold water and toss with oil.
- Rice noodles: Once cooked rinse with cold water and set aside in strainer until needed.
